Alas!
Today, the grades for last term were made available.
I knew I had an A in psych as that grade had already been posted.
And I knew I had a high A (actually an A+) in math, as math is easy and I got the highest grade in the class for almost all assignments and tests.
And I had calculated the grade for French to be a low A.
So the only grade I really wasn't certain about was the one for my composition class. I'm a slacker, I hate English classes and I can't write good essays, so I was worried that that would be the class that would break my 4.0. Imagine my surprise when I saw that I'd gotten an A there.
And imagine my shock when I saw that, because my French class uses the +/- grading system, I got an A- there.
An A- is worth 3.67 grade points, as compared to the 4.00 grade points of an A and an A+. So even though I had all As, the minus cost me my 4.0 GPA
. I now have a 3.964, and that'll probably just drop even more. A 4.0, once lost, can never be regained.
Stupid minuses
